Vilagtalakozo diszunnepseg2016The 6th Hungarian World Summit ceremony was held last Tuesday in the Urania National Film Theatre. After the historic flag parade, Fulop Kocsis, the Greek orthodox metropolitan archbishop of the archdiocese of Hajdudorog said a blessing. Then, the president of the World Summit, Dr. Laszlo Tanka and the representatives of the guests of honor greeted the guests. This year, this accolade went to Latin America, the Burgenland and Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg County.

This was followed by the transfer of civilian honors. The "For the Hungarians of the world” public award this year, went to, among others George Pataki, former governor of New York State, Dr. Tibor Tuzson, associate professor at the University of Obuda and Sandor Balogh, President of the African-Hungarian Union. This award is offered to people who perform outstanding work, contribute to preserving the heritage of the Hungarians and the civil relations between countries. The "For the Hungarians of the world" art award was given to Sandor Tímár dance teacher, Boske Timar, dancer and Feco Balazs, performer.

Three people received the honorary Hungarian title. The "Uniting for Hungarians" award went to Fedor Alice, Latin America's leading public figure, president of the Venezuelan World Club. With every award came the work of Transylvanian sculptor Judit Jozsa, the "Tree of Life cross - for our survival".

At the evening, performed the Delibab Dance Company of Vienna, the Csillagszemu Dance Company, Kovacs Gabor musician and actor Doczy Peter.
