Every year the country celebrates the unification of Cameroon on May 20. The celebrations commemorate the abolition of the federal government, the unification of the northern and southern parts of the country and the help of President Ahmadou Ahidjo in the unification. On this occasion, the Cameroonians' Association in Hungary (CAMAH) also commemorated the historical context of the events on May 21, in the form of a pleasant evening event.

After the national anthem a welcome speech was held, where among others Ebako Francis, President of the CAMAH and Raymond Irambo, the General Secretary of the African-Hungarian Union (AHU) spoke. Both speeches stressed the great importance of fostering relations between the two countries. After the speeches a Cameroonian dance group hold performance, and the audience joined in. At the end of invitees could taste local specialities.
