The Savannah Bellydance Night charity evening of June 18 was a massive success! The event in favour of handicapped Bamako children was sponsored and organized by Cecilia Balogh.
Presentation on the work of AHU and Africa
We were invited by the Pannonia Program and Travel Agency to a give presentation about the Organization's activities and talk a little more about Africa to the Óbuda Social Service Institution's audience. Zsuzsa Orzoi, Chief of Protocol and Volunteer Coordinator of AHU and Dorottya Horvath, Humanitarian Officer were delighted to accept the invitation.
The photo exhibition of Dr Anna Jakkel opened at the Zoo
Dr. Anna Jakkel's popular African-themed photo exhibition opened on June 15 at 10 a.m. at the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden. The exhibition that has already migrated to several locations shows Africa's diversity, amazing wildlife, culture and is intended to present it from the viewpoint of a general practitioner from Kecskemet.
The continent of the future - Africa was celebrated in Budapest
In 1963 in Addis Abeba on the inaugural summit of the Organization of African Unity the leaders of the countries decided that every year on May 25 they'd celebrate the International Day of the African continent. The organization and its successor, the African Union's objective of unity and solidarity of the African people and to promote economic and political development and cooperation. As in the past 10 years, this year also had an Africa Day in Budapest, at the InterContinental Hotel.

The Cameroonians' Association in Hungary (CAMAH) celebrates Cameroon's National Day.
Every year the country celebrates the unification of Cameroon on May 20. The celebrations commemorate the abolition of the federal government, the unification of the northern and southern parts of the country and the help of President Ahmadou Ahidjo in the unification. On this occasion, the Cameroonians' Association in Hungary (CAMAH) also commemorated the historical context of the events on May 21, in the form of a pleasant evening event.
The president of AHU, Sandor Balogh received the 'For the Hungarians of the world' award
The 6th Hungarian World Summit ceremony was held last Tuesday in the Urania National Film Theatre. After the historic flag parade, Fulop Kocsis, the Greek orthodox metropolitan archbishop of the archdiocese of Hajdudorog said a blessing. Then, the president of the World Summit, Dr. Laszlo Tanka and the representatives of the guests of honor greeted the guests. This year, this accolade went to Latin America, the Burgenland and Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg County.
